GDC 2015 is over, and with record-breaking attendance this year it seems like the greater part of the game industry is still trying to get back to business as usual. 

But not everyone had a chance to attend GDC last week, and those that did couldn't possibly have had time to see everything. 

We did our best to bring you news, interviews and analysis of the most interesting events of the show in our GDC 2015 coverage, but a certain aspect of the experience is lost when you try to convey the tenor of a vibrant event like this through words alone.

In 2011, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 concluded Infinity Ward’s original Modern Warfare trilogy, with Captain Price emerging victorious over the terrorist Vladimir Makarov after a dramatic helicopter crash and rooftop battle. But a newly surfaced post-credits scene allegedly cut from the final product completely recontextualizes the ending to one of the greatest FPS trilogies of all time.

The cut scene is similar to the ending seen in the original game, but takes what is a clear victory in the finished scene and instead adds a layer of tragedy to it. Footage of Deadlock, the next game reportedly in development at Valve, has leaked online, showing off gameplay of the multiplayer hero shooter in action. The new gameplay videos reveal Deadlock’s training mode, several of its hero characters, and aerial lines that players will be able to ride around on, similar to the skyhook system used in BioShock: Infinite.

Pokemon Go’s next season kicks off on June 1, but before it begins, developer Niantic is giving players a glimpse at some of the events happening in the game this summer.

Ahead of the new season, Niantic has outlined Pokemon Go’s Community Day schedule for the next three months. While we don’t yet know which Pokemon will star in each, the events will fall on the following dates:

• June Community Day: June 9
• June Community Day Classic: June 22
• July Community Day: July 21
• August Community Day: August 31

Rachael Lillis, the voice actor behind Pokémon characters Misty and Jessie, died on August 10 at the age of 46 after a battle with breast cancer.

Veronica Taylor, Lillis’ Pokémon co-star who voiced Ash Ketchum, announced the death with a statement on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “It is with a very heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of Rachael Lillis on Saturday evening, 10 August 2024. Rachael was an extraordinary talent, a bright light that shone through her voice whether speaking or singing. She will be forever remembered for the many animated roles she played, with her iconic performances as Pokémons’ Misty and Jessie being the most beloved.”

Take-Two recently announced that Grand Theft Auto VI is now targeting a release in Fall 2025, and CEO Strauss Zelnick is pretty sure the game will make it out on time.

“There is slippage in the industry, and we’re not immune from that. However, we narrowed the timing [of GTA 6] because we are highly confident in that timing,” he told CNBC.

Previously, GTA VI was set for release at an unspecified point in 2025. It’s worth noting that pretty much every Rockstar Games release gets delayed, so it’s possible GTA VI might slip, as Zelnick mentioned was possible.

Duke Nukem is a legend in the gaming world–mostly for the wrong reasons. Now, Legendary Entertainment and the producers behind Cobra Kai are trying to make him big on the silver screen, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
